Biography

Eager to discover

From a very young age, Tahmineh Godazgar was driven by a deep curiosity to understand the “whys” of the phenomena she encountered. She found physics to be the ideal way to acquire the knowledge needed to comprehend the world around her. This pursuit guided her path until 2009, when a social movement in Iran brought her face to face with groundbreaking phenomena she couldn’t fully understand. This experience sparked her search for answers in art and human sciences.

Studying design became her way to explore space and time within the human context, offering her a tool to make a meaningful difference. She gravitated toward social design, where she could use the design process to empower marginalized communities and bridge the gap between them and the mainstream design realm. To connect with the people she was designing for, she turned to photography, using the camera as a means of communication with this new world.

As her documentary work progressed, she realized that while she could understand the issues at hand, the deeper reasons behind them remained unclear. This led her to explore social psychology, and she soon discovered surprising connections to physics. She began to see how the psyche, like the fundamental forces and interactions that govern elementary particles in physics, could be understood through similar basic principles.

Her recent works focus on presenting the inner human world through the lens of fundamental science, aiming to capture the essence of the human experience using the framework of particle understanding.
